DICOM datasets and JPG previews are supplied via encrypted transfer directly to the referring practice. How you’ll receive your scan explains how to download and open the files.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a dentist referral?
If you have your own dentist, they should refer you. There is no consultation fee, and your dentist can find referral information on our For Dentists page. If you would like to arrange a scan yourself, you first have a consultation with our dentist (£54), who decides whether the scan is justified. UK radiation law (IR(ME)R) requires every scan to be justified by a dentist.
Is the radiology report included?
No. The scan prices do not include a written report. A formal radiology report is an optional extra at £115. Many routine cases do not need one because your dentist reviews the scan. Reports are often requested for implant planning or complex pathology.
Is the scan included in the consultation fee?
No, they are separate. If you arrange the scan yourself, the consultation is £54 and a CBCT is £139 per region or arch, so £193 for one region. A radiology report, if you want one, is £115 on top.
Do you offer small field-of-view CBCT, and can two adjacent teeth go in one scan?
Yes. A small field-of-view CBCT (for example for a root canal tooth) is £139 per region. We can usually capture two adjacent teeth in one small field-of-view scan, which counts as one region, where possible.
Are there any hidden fees?
No — the prices above are fixed. There are no extra charges for digital delivery or repeated downloads. If anything additional is required, this will be agreed with the referring dentist in advance.
How quickly will my files be sent?
Most scans are delivered on the same day. Complex cases may take up to 24 hours. The scan files (DICOM) can be sent securely to you, to your dentist, or to both.
How soon can I have a scan?
Same-week, often same-day, appointments are usually available. Book online with a £30 deposit (it comes off the fee on the day), or call 01922 326040. We are a diagnostic imaging centre, so any treatment stays with your own dentist.
Can dentists request specific fields of view?
Yes. We offer small, medium and full-arch imaging depending on the clinical question. This includes focussed scans for endodontics and wider fields for implant and wisdom tooth cases.
